Buen Chico - Let's Not Go Back To Work In January OUT NOW

Buen Chico's Christmas single Let's Not Go Back To Work In January is released today. Available across all digital formats like BandcampSpotifyiTunes and many others.

In June 2016, Buen Chico released their third album, ‘Working for a Work Free Future’. The album critiqued contemporary society’s fetishisation of hard graft, whose primary benefactors are the super-rich. It offered an alternative vision of a world in which technological innovations benefit all of society, enabling us to work less and party more.

In December 2016, songwriter Morgan Tatchell-Evans (vocals, guitar, keys) wrote something of a coda to the album, passionately transposing its themes to the season of merriment and good will. In keeping with the values espoused, the band have taken their sweet time about recording it, but it’s here now, with bells on. It’s called ‘Let’s Not Go Back To Work In January’, and will be released on 8th December 2017, which also happens to be Morgan’s birthday.

This time around, the band are shorn of guitarist Matthew Haigh who presently has his hands full with leading mathy progsters Wot Gorilla?, and his recent introduction to parenthood. Brothers Alan (drums) and John Kenworthy (bass) are as ever on hand to provide a punchy backdrop to the festive jangle. Alan’s apparently serious attempts to source a children’s choir to provide the metaphorical icing on the rum-soaked fruitcake were, mercifully, unsuccessful.

The album Working For A Work Free Future is still available here
